Alternative download options for Minecraft: Java Edition

If you can't get the standard download of Minecraft: Java Edition to work on your machine you may want to try with one of the alternative options below.

Platform	Description	File
Windows	Get Minecraft without our handy installer. If that’s your thing.	Minecraft.exe
Windows	If you’re still having issues, you can try an older version of the Minecraft launcher. If given the option, save the file somewhere instead of running it, then double-click the program. This version will require you to have Java installed.	Minecraft.exe
Mac	If you are using an older version of macOS you can try an older version of the Minecraft launcher.	Minecraft_legacy.dmg
Linux / Other	Install Minecraft on Linux or something else. It is executable and should work as-is if you have Java installed (please use Oracle's JVM).	Minecraft.jar
